310: Heroes on Both Sides: Episode Guide

"Fear is a great motivator."

Preview: When the Senate begins debating a bill that would eliminate government oversight of the Banking Clan's activities in order to fund the war, Padmé and Ahsoka travel in secret to the capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Amidala attempts to forge a peace agreement with the Separatists, while Ahsoka sees, for the first time, the people of the Confederacy. Padmé's friend, Mina Bonteri, spearheads the peace initiative, and convinces the Separatist Congress to sue for peace. Meanwhile, on Coruscant, Senators Lott Dod and Gume Saam conspire with Banking Clan representative Nix Card and Count Dooku to make the banking deregulation a reality. At Dooku's command, General Grievous engineers an attack at the central power distribution grid on Coruscant, carried out by Separatist demolition droids. The chaos and panic spreads to the Senate, which vehemently rejects the Separatist peace initiative, and votes instead to deregulate the Banking Clan.

Greatest Scene: When the the sweeper droids approach the power station and transform into the deadly demolition droids sent by General Grievous to attack the Republic Capital planet of Coruscant. They kill all but one of the workers who hides for a while then pulls out a gun and shots one of the droids. Unharmed, the droid kills the last worker then performs its final task. All the droids transform into bombs and destroy the central power station setting of a chain reaction of explosions on the surface.

Memorable Quotes:
"You have been specially designed to be the perfect infiltrators. Some of you may not return from this mission, in fact non of you will. But don't let that get in your way, is that understood." General Grievous
"There are a lot of terrible things happening. A lot of killing, and my friends are saying that the Jedi are to blame." Lux Bonteri
"Well look at me, not so bad am I?" Ahsoka
"I don't take orders from you, only Count Dooku." General Grievous

Secrets Revealed:
This episode unveils new models for several of the main characters, including upgrades to Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, and a new wardrobe for Chancellor Palpatine. Ahsoka is now older; there is an unspecified passage of time between this episode and her last appearance.
With the start of this arc, which continues in Pursuit of Peace and concludes in Season Two's Senate Murders, the Clone Wars storyline advances to its furthest point in the timeline, and subsequent episodes should continue going forward without as much jumping back and forth.
The battle droids that deal with newcomers to Raxus are remarkably polite.
During production, this episode was titled Banking Conspiracy. The new title, taken from a line in the opening crawl for Episode III, came much later.

Next Episode: Pursuit of Peace

309: Hunt for Ziro: Episode Guide

"Love comes in all shapes and sizes."

Preview: Cad Bane has broken Ziro the Hutt out of prison and the Hutt Council demands that Ziro tell them where he's hidden vital - and incriminating - information: a journal detailing the criminal activities of the five Hutt families. Ziro makes another daring escape with the help of his estranged (and strange) lover, Sy Snootles. Bane is back on the Hutt's trail -- but he's not the only one. The Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Quinlan Vos need to find him too. A chase through the swamps of Nal Hutta leads the pursuers to Ziro's enormous mother, Mama the Hutt, who points them to the direction of Teth. It is here, in the secret grave of Ziro's father, that the fugitive Hutt has hidden the diary. When he retrieves it, Snooty reveals her true spots. She's a deadly woman scorned and a bounty hunter for hire. She kills Ziro, and returns the journal to her client: Jabba the Hutt.

Greatest Scene: When the Jedi attempt to arrest Cad Bane for his crimes but Bane pulls out his blasters and the showdown begins. When Bane losses his pistols he begins launching darts at Obi-Wan, then he steals Vos' lightsaber and has a short confrontation with Obi-Wan then when all else fails he uses his flame-thrower on the Jedi. After that Bane and Todo escape in their starfighter.

Memorable Quotes:
"Yes, well if you could tell time half as well as you could stick a landing we wouldn't be behind Schedule now would we?" Obi-Wan Kenobi
"Thanks Mama, I've got some important business on Teth." Ziro
"The separatists are paying a million credits a head, for Jedi." Cad Bane
"No-one would suspect that a lovely creature such as myself could do a Bounty Hunter's work." Sy Snootles

Secrets Revealed:
Quinlan Vos has a unique Force talent of psychometry- the ability to read impressions off of objects so he can see who had previously handled them. In this episode, he uses this ability to detect Ziro's presence from a discarded drinking vessel. In the script, he was to use it again while tracking down Ziro in the swamps of Nal Hutta.
The five Hutt family leaders are are Oruba, Marlo, Arok, Gorga and Jabba. As Jabba is not present on Nal Hutta, Gardulla serves as his representative. This was a change made relatively late in production. Jabba's protocol droid, TC-30, was changed to Gardulla's, MF-80.
This episode is the second time that Teth has been seen in The Clone Wars.
This episode is Quinlan Vos' first appearance not only in The Clone Wars but his first ever on screen appearance as well!

Next Episode: Heroes on Both Sides

308: Evil Plans: Episode Guide

"A failure in planning is a plan for failure."

Preview: In the middle of a routine shopping trip on Coruscant C-3PO is abducted by the bounty hunter Cad Bane. Bane is looking for information about the Senate building on behalf of Jabba the Hutt. Finding C-3PO devoid of useful information, Bane and his accomplices kidnap R2-D2 and extract the vital data, before memory wiping the droids of the incident, and letting them on their way. The floor-plans and security details of the Senate building are part of a plot engineered by the Hutt families to free their imprisoned brother, Ziro the Hutt, who holds potentially damaging information about Hutt activities.

Greatest Scene: When R2 is being hunted by Todo and the assassin droid pulls down a stall to block Cad Bane's droids and escape but Todo outwits him by threatening to destroy Threepio and R2 gives up his hiding place to save his friend.

Memorable Quotes:
"I don't want this gibberish! I want the plans for the senate building!" Cad Bane
"Thanks for the memories." Todo 360
"I'll take on the job, for the right price." Cad Bane
"A magnificent job." C3PO

Secrets Revealed:
This episode takes place some time after Holocron Heist, which saw the destruction of Todo 360. Todo was rebuilt off-screen by Anakin Skywalker after the episode Children of the Force, in an attempt by the Jedi to learn more about Bane and his whereabouts. The plan goes wrong and Todo escapes. The episode immediately after this one is Hostage Crisis.
This episode finally reveals who hired Cad Bane for the liberation of Ziro the Hutt: it was the bosses of the Hutt crime families. The design and characterizations of some of the five Hutt families were inspired by mob bosses from classic cinema, including those played by Edward G. Robinson and Marlon Brando.
The loudmouth jogan fruit vendor that swindles C3PO is named Droogan. According to the script, he is a Khramboan. Production notes for this episode name the green shopkeeper droid GL-916, and the speeder used by HELIOS-3E and Todo 360 as a RGC-16 landspeeder.
When R2-D2 goes through the oil in the droid spa he uses his periscope to see his way through. This a nod to Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back when R2-D2 finds his way through the Dagobah swamps.

Hasbro: Clone Wars Action Figure: Battle Damged General Grievous Review

Galactic Battle Game Card:
A good thing to have with you in a game. With 15 battle skills it is a great addition to a collection but not so good on mechanical skill with only 4. A fair amount of power overall which should help in a game if the dice rolls your way.

General Grievous:
A awesome figure with a lot of detail but some of the armour falls off very easily. The lightsabers are impossible to put in his hands but it comes band that raps round the hand to hold the lightsabers into place. Unlike some other figures that Hasbro have made of Grievous this one only comes with two arms instead of four but that's because of the main feature of this set that I will get onto soon. It has a lot of articulation but because of his thin joints he is hard to stand and cannot be attached to the base so I used a band that came with the packaging to strap him to the base and it works as a great alternative.

Battle Damaged Grievous:
The cool part about this version of General Grievous is that he comes with interchangeable body parts to replay the scene from the episode Lair of Grievous when he gets attacked by the Jedi and has to retreat to get repaired. His arms are cut of and his soldier armour has been removed. his head is also changed to one with part of the mask removed from around his eye with detail of what appearers to be a burn. He looks great like this this but I like his normal form better.

Overall:
This figure is great overall but its more for display than play. He has a good hight which is true to the series and is very detailed. I hope you enjoyed my first review of a action figure. Please comment and follow,

307: Assassin: Episode Guide

"The future has many paths - choose wisely."

Preview: Tasked to protect Senator Padmé Amidala during a political mission to Alderaan, Padawan Ahsoka Tano is plagued by recurring visions of recently-deceased bounty hunter, Aurra Sing. Unable to clear her mind, Ahsoka worries that the stress of conflict is finally getting to her until her visions indeed prove prophetic. Padmé narrowly avoids death when Aurra Sing attempts to assassinate her. Together, Padmé and Ahsoka trap the hunter, and Ahsoka discovers the true villain behind the plot to kill Padmé: the incarcerated gangster, Ziro the Hutt.

Greatest Scene: When Aurra Sing finds Padmé in her room and almost succeeds in assassinating the senator but Ahsoka jumps in and save her but after a short confrontation a shot gets through and Ahsoka gets shot in the arm. With nothing in her way Aurra is about to kill Padmé but the senator fights back and stuns the assassin.

Memorable Quotes:
"I've been having dreams, bad dreams." Ahsoka
"She will die and there nothing you can do." Aurra Sing
"Well then, at least we still have a fighting chance." Padmé Amidala
"Always in motion is the future and many possible future there are." Yoda

Secrets Revealed:
The visions that Ahsoka has feature the same distorted effect as Anakin's visions in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
At one point in early story development, Ahsoka visited Boba Fett in jail to ask for details about Aurra Sing.
This the second time that Alderaan has been seen on screen. The first being in Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
This episode, more than others, reveals the convoluted chronology of stories from the first two seasons. The Season Two finale, 'Lethal Trackdown', actually takes place before the Season One finale, 'Hostage Crisis'.

Next Episode: Evil Plans

306: The Academy: Episode Guide

"Those who enforce the law must obey the law"

Preview: Ahsoka is assigned to teach a class at a leadership academy on Mandalore. Soon after she arrives, Duchess Satine's zealous nephew - Korkie - and his classmates uncover a nefarious plot. Prime Minister Almec is revealed to be an active part of the black market conspiracy on Mandalore, and he attempts to permanently silence Duchess Satine and the cadets before they expose his corruption. Ahsoka and the cadets defeat Almec before he can succeed.

Greatest Scene: When the Mandalorian Secret Service surrounds the cadets and attempts to arrest them. Then Ahsoka jumps in and starts to take down the Mandalorians one-by-one without her lightsaber. When most of the guards have been defeated the others retreated as failures.

Memorable Quotes:
"Its every citizens duty to challenge their leaders." Ahsoka
"Run along now, there will be a time to save the world when your a bit older." Duchess Satine
"Looks like the academy tout us well." Korkie
"Master Obi-Wan caused trouble, that's a first." Ahsoka

Secrets Revealed:
Prime Minister Almec makes mention of Obi-Wan Kenobi's recent visit, which sets this episode (as well as the previous, "Corruption") after the events of the Mandalorian trilogy from Season Two.
'Master Jedi' is the formally proper address to a Jedi of any rank by a non-Jedi - even a Padawan.
This is another episode were Ahsoka has no help from Anakin or another Jedi.
Ahsoka's theme which is a musical composition created by Kevin Kiner for The Clone Wars movie can be heard during her arrival on Mandalore.

305: Corruption: Episode Guide

"The challenge of hope is to overcome corruption."

Preview: Padmé, on a diplomatic mission to Mandalore, guarantees the pacifist planet the Republic's full protection, but she and Duchess Satine soon find something sinister lurking beneath the planet's serene facade. Moogan smugglers have been sneaking in supplies, including bottled tea destined for the Mandalorian schools. To increase their profits, they have been diluting the tea with a hazardous chemical.

Greatest Scene: When Padmé arrives on Mandalore, Satine gives Padmé a traditional Mandalorian welcome to show how much they have progressed since there dark past. With crowds of people and confetti everywhere it definitely makes Padmé feel at home.

Memorable Quotes:
"They are our children and they need our help. This is a Mandalorian matter and we must find out who dares poison our children. Thank you, Thank you all." Duchess Satine
"Hundreds of children have been poisoned." Padmé Amidala
"Get that stuff unloaded, quickly!" Moogan Captain
"Was Death-Watch involved?" Duchess Satine

Secrets Revealed:
The tall alien smugglers with the pharoah-like headdresses are called Moogans. None of the individual characters are named in this episode.
Some of Satine's actions in this episode go against her so-called claim to peace.
True the cubist design seen throughout Mandalore, even their food is cube-shaped - though Satine and Padmé's dinner plates also include the previously used fried nuna leg model.
The bottles of tea say "Ardees Beverage" on it, a nod to a drink established in Episode II. Originally, Obi-Wan was to order a cup of ardees in Dex's Diner, but that dialogue was changed to "Jawa Juice" before the movie's release.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Chuchi find Chi Eekway held captive aboard a blockading Trade Federation battleship over Pantora, and expose Trade Federation officer Sib Canay as a Separatist conspirator

Greatest Scene: When Ion and Papanoida go to the Mos Eisley Cantina to find Che Amanwe from the Bounty Hunter Greedo. When they find Che Amanwe, Greedo reveals that they are Pantorans and the fire fight begins. Papanoida pulls out twin blasters and gets cover from a table that had been tipped over. When the Bounty Hunters have been defeated the family had been reunited and a bartender had been left in shock.

"Their Pantorans! Blast them!" Greedo
"My daughters lives are in your hands inspector." Chairman Papanoida
"You will let me pass." Ahsoka
"Where are they, you slime!" Chairman Papanoida

Chairman Papanoida's family is based on George Lucas' family. Chi Eekway Papanoida is based on Katie Lucas, Che Amanwe Papanoida is based on Amanda Lucas, Ion Papanoida is based of Jett Lucas and, of course, Chairman Baron Papanoida is based of George Lucas himself.
Embo and Sugi from the season two episode Bounty Hunters have cameo appearances inside Jabba the Hutt's palace.
Ion Papanoida calls Greedo 'sleemo' which is Huttese for 'slimeball'
Though not technically visited in the course of the episode, images of Pantora appear during the newsreel narration.

Lego Star Wars: Droid Tri-Fighter: Review

Minifigures:
This set comes with three minifigures and one is exclusive to this set. The exclusive minifigure is the Rocket Droid Commander, it has dark grey arms, legs and jetpack and orange-brown like coloured head and chest, their are also two yellow dots, on on the chest and one on the head. The normal Rocket Droids are the same but they do not have the yellow marks that the commander has.

Droid Tri-Fighter:
The Tri-Fighter is very cool and is better than the one released in 2005. This one is more armoured and has a more solid blue colour scheme. Main part of the build is the wings which you have to build three times. It comes with a lot of stickers which is bad news for sticker hatters. It comes with two flick fire missiles which are massive compared to others, they attach onto the bottom and there is no mechanism so they are easier to flick. Finally, you can put a minifigure inside the cockpit but it just wobbles around because there are no studs for the minifigure to be placed on.
Overall:
Overall this set is okay but it is only just worth its price. But I would recommend it especially if you find it on sale. I hope you enjoyed this review of the Droid Tri-Fighter. Please comment and follow,

303: Supply Lines: Episode Guide

"Where there's a will, there's a way."

Preview: Ryloth is under siege. Trapped on the surface, Jedi Master Di rallies the local forces with the help of Cham Syndulla. Desperate to save them, the Jedi Council dispatches Senator Bail Organa and Representative Jar Jar Binks to the planet Toydaria, where they are to convince the neutral regent, King Katuunko, to send aid to Ryloth. Bail and Jar Jar must convince Toydaria that their cause is just - before it's too late. Trade Federation envoy Lott Dod attempts to prevent the Toydarians from giving up their neutrality. Katuunko follows his conscience and secretly aids the Republic, which Jar Jar is able to keep secret from the snooping Trade Federation agents with his inimitable distractions.

Greatest Scene: When Jedi Master Di and his men distract the droids to aid the Twi'leks escape but although the they fight valiantly, the droids far outnumber them and continue to push through. After a short lived fight only Master Di and Captain Keeli are left. They keep up the fight but eventually get surrounded, just before they die the blockade runners fly overhead, they had completed their mission but it has costed them their lives.

Memorable Quotes:
"Trapped on Ryloth, Master Di and his men are." Yoda
"War turns promises into hopes. I wish it wasn't so." Jedi Master Di
"I wish I could help, but for the sake of my people, Toydaria must remain neutral." King Katuunko
"For the Republic! For the Twi'leks!" Jedi Master Di

Secrets Revealed:
This episode is a prequel to the season one episode Ambush and the Ryloth trilogy. Before this episode Ambush and the Ryloth trilogy were not connected.
The name of Jedi Master Di was deliberately chosen to foreshadow his grim fate. His full name, Ima-Gun Di is a pun on "I'm gonna die."
Jedi Master Di is a Nikto, a species first introduced in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi as underlings of Jabba the Hutt. Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones revealed that not all Nikto end up in the underworld, as several Nikto are seen among the Jedi Knights in the Geonosian arena.
Lott Dod makes a mention of the Separatist Senate. This civilian political arm of the Confederacy, not yet seen in the series, will play an important rule in future episodes.

Lego Star Wars: ARC-170 Starfighter: Review

Minifigures:
This set contains three exclusive minifigures and one minifigure that has been released before. That makes a total of four minifigures that are worth a lot. Starting with Kit Fisto, he is probably my favourite minifigure in the set but he was released before in a 2007 set but its sold out now so if you missed that set you can get Kit Fisto to add to your collection. It includes a new Astromech Droid called R4-P44 (I Think), he has a cool dark green colour scheme and is exclusive to this set. Another new minifigure is the clone pilot Captain Jag, also exclusive to this set, and he is very similar to the normal Revenge of the Sith pilot except the helmet has a few different markings but otherwise their the same.

ARC-170 Starfighter:
The ARC-170 is very cool and is defiantly better than the first one which was released in 2005. It is very big, mainly because of the wingspan. It has two flick-fire missiles that are launched by a button at the back of the starfighter. Also, if you turn the button it open the S-Foil wings which is probably the main feature of the set. For the amount of pieces you get a very enjoyable build and a good amount of features. It also comes with 3 cockpits and on the back one there is a turret which spins. Unfortunately it comes with a lot of stickers and some of them are hard to put on but once there on you've got nothing to worry about because they wont fall of any time soon.

Overall:
Overall this set is great and has a good amount of features for it price. I hope you enjoyed this review of the ARC-170 Starfighter. Please comment and follow,

Lego Star Wars: Clone Turbo Tank: Review

Minifigures:
This set includes a total of six minifigs. Good news for minifig collectors, this set comes with Cad Bane and Aayla who are both new and also Aayla is exclusive to this set. Anikan and Ahsoka have been seen a lot in other sets so are not really anything to get excited over. And of course the key part of the clone wars; the clones. This set come with two clones and 1 pack of ARC gear, not much of a army builder but it still helps.

Clone Walker:
A cool part about this set is that it comes with a clone walker. Their are clone walkers available in other sets but this is by far the most well designed. Some people complain about the green colour but I don't really care about it. The only con about it is that it only comes in this set so if your thinking about building a army of them then your going to have to start saving up big time.

Clone Outpost:
Another small accessory that comes with this set is the Clone Outpost. I like the walker better but the outpost is still a great complement to the set.

Clone Turbo Tank:
The turbo tank is great and has a lot of detail. I like the way both cockpits open and close. Also, inside the cargo hold there's not only space for the Walker and the outpost to go but there is a compartment for the spare ARC gear. On top there is a handel which you can pull out to carry it with. Moving along the Turbo Tank there is a compartment were you can put the weapons. Finally, on top of the back cockpit there is a turret which is very lose in design but still looks cool.

Overall:
Overall, I think this set is very good and gives a lot of good stuff to all age groups. I hope you enjoyed this review of the Clone Turbo Tank. Please comment and follow,

302: ARC Troopers: Episode Guide

"Fighting a war tests a soldier's skills, defending his home tests a soldier's heart."

Preview: The Republic learns of an impending Separatist attack on Kamino, and Anakin and Obi-Wan hurry to the planet. After the Republic repulses the Separatists' diversionary assault, the real attack begins. Asajj Ventress, General Grievous and an army of droids rise out of the oceans, bent on destroying Kamino's clone production facilities. Rex, Cody, Fives and Echo lead the clones in a desperate defense of their home planet.

Greatest Scene: When the clones fight the droids in the barracks. As 99 provides ammo, the clones take out the droids one by one. When the droids are in position the clones begin the ambush. The clone cadets begin to battle the droids from behind while Commander Cody, Capitan Rex, Fives and Echo battle the droids from their forward position. When the clones run out of ammo 99 tries to get some more but gets shot by the droids. 99 sacrifices his life and proves himself a real soldier.

Memorable Quotes:
"Look around you, we are one in the same. Same heart, same blood. Your training is in your blood. And my blood's boiling for a fight." Fives
"We believe Grievous is planing a separatist attack on Kamino." Obi-Wan Kenobi
"Kenobi, Kamino has fallen. Your clone army is doomed." General Grievous
"The armoury... is just a few corridors away here in the barracks, I can retrieve all the fire power that we need. Now, who want to blast some droids." 99

Secrets Revealed:
This episode is a sequel to the season one episode rookies. The complete order goes as follows: Clone Cadets, Rookies, ARC Troopers.
This episode is the first time General Grievous has met Asajj Ventress face-to-face.
Though not directly seen on screen, General Grievous arrives on the surface inside the debris dropped from the orbiting Separatist cruisers.
The series once again ensures that Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous do not cross paths. As explained in dialogue in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, they do not meet until after the death of Count Dooku.

Next Episode: Supply Lines

301: Clone Cadets: Episode Guide

"Brothers in arms are brothers for life."

Preview: Five headstrong clones struggle to complete their training on Kamino. These cadets - Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, Fives and Echo - seem to be a "bad batch" and are unable to work as a team. As Shaak Ti and drill instructors Bric and El-Les debate the cadets' fate, the clones learn to work together and accept their destiny as soldiers.

Greatest Scene: When the cadets work together to get to the citadel but then treachery strikes as the clones discover that Bric had removed their cables so they are unable to scale the wall. As time runs short, the clones use their initiative to disable the guns and use them to scale the wall. Triumphant, the clones graduate and join the grand army of the republic.

Memorable Quotes:
"I am a Jedi, where the individual and the group are one and the same." Shaak Ti
"How about we follow orders, this is our last practice test." Echo
"And one more thing, the names Hevy" Hevy
"Well I'm no Jedi so forgive my bluntness but I say they fail. Send them down to maintenance duty with 99 and the other rejects." Bric

Secrets Revealed:
This episode is a prequel to the season one episode rookies. The episode rookies was the inspiration for this episode.
If you look closely at the cadet armour each clone has a different number. The Domino Squad team numbering is as follows: 1. Hevy, 2. Droidbait, 3. Echo,  4. Cutup, 5. Fives.
Bric and El-Les are both inspired by aliens seen in the Mos Eisley Cantina.
The designs for the clone barracks dates back to concepts developed for Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, which were explored by the concept design team back in 2000, but never finished.

Next Episode: ARC Troopers
